June 2025 Newsletter

I can’t believe how quickly our preschool year has gone by. As we end our school year, we will reflect on all we have done. We will talk about things we have learned and new friends we have made. It has been an exciting year and we have all grown and gained new skills. I want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all the parents for allowing me to be your child’s teacher, and sharing your pride and joy with me. It was with great pleasure to have had your little ones in my class. I have enjoyed all the smiles and hugs each day, and I will miss each and everyone of them.

Reading:

This month we will meet letters J, jumbled junk, Mr. Q, with his quiet mouth, Miss U with her upsy-daisey umbrella, and Mr. X, who is all mixed up. We will continue to review all the letters we have learned this year, through different alphabet games.

Social Studies:

During the month of May, the children were introduced to Safe choices at home and outside the home, Dinosaurs, and artist Piet Mondrian. This month, we will be working on Father’s Day, and Summer.

Art:

In May, we created art projects to go along with: Piet Mondrian, Mother’s Day, Dinosaurs, and Safety at home and outside.

Math and Science:

In May, the children continued to work on matching objects to the correct numerals. This month, we will review what we have learned since September. In May, the children learned about the life cycle and parts of a plant, and what they need to grow. We learned about the four stages of a butterfly. The children were able to see the transformation daily in our classroom from caterpillar to beautiful adult butterflies. This month, we will discuss the Solar System. We will learn which orbit is the closest to the sun, which is the smallest, what planet is famous for the beautiful rings that surround it, and who was the first person to walk on the moon.
